Please Note: Bath Tub or Shower
Stall must be completely clean
and completely dry. It is important not
to touch the mat's adhesive
backing as fingers contain
oils and may be soiled which can
have an adverse effect on the adhesive bond. The ideal temperature range for installation
of Permanent Safety Bathtub Mats is between 70° and 90° Fahrenheit. |
Cleaning
the tub or shower stall: Use a recommended abrasive or non-abrasive
cleaner. Completely rinse off cleaner and wipe dry.
Allow tub or shower stall to air dry for 30 minutes. Wipe surface with alcohol
to ensure that all moisture
and oils have been removed. |
Touching the adhesive on the back of the mat with one's hands can cause
premature failure of the mat's
adhesive bond. Once the
mat is in place, roll firmly
with wallpaper seam roller or similar tool. |
Install Permanent
Safety Bathtub Mats only on surfaces that are
completely smooth. |
Use Permanent Safety Bathtub Mats only for their recommended use. |

Maintenance |
Permanent
Safety Bathtub Mats and Safety Strips are best maintained by using an all-purpose
liquid cleaner. Spray on liquid cleaner, then scrub
with a bristle brush in the direction of the safety
strip and rinse thoroughly. Please note: abrasive
powder cleaners are not recommended for use on resurfaced or refinished tubs. |
For removal
of stubborn dirt or stains, sprinkle a powdered
cleaner like Ajax, Comet or Bon Ami on safety strips and scrub with a bristle brush
and rinse thoroughly. For hotels or
residences requiring non abrasive cleaners,
Comet has a new no-scratch formula available or you
may use Soft Scrub. |
When using
with powdered cleansers,
be sure to rinse the Permanent
Safety Bathtub Mat thoroughly to avoid
a soapy buildup on the mat, which
would reduce the slip resistance of the mat and
create a slip and fall hazard. |
For removal
of grease or tar, use
any water-based degreaser and repeat the above cleaning
instructions. Always clean the entire tub area with all-purpose cleaner after using
any degreasers. Degreasers tend to leave a slick film that could be very dangerous to those using the bath tub or shower stall. |
Caution |
Use no petroleum based products on The Mat King Permanent Safety Bathtub Mat. Examples: Acetone, Toluene, Gasoline, Paint Thinners,
Reducers, or similar products. When The Mat King Permanent Safety Bathtub Mat is to be removed, the use of Acetone to help neutralize the adhesive will usually make the process much easier. |
