Failsafe Domed Industrial Warning Mats are designed with one purpose in mind; to save lives. The typical application involves an industrial work area that otherwise appears to be normal but which is directly in an extremely dangerous fall zone where a piece of machinery or falling object can show up with no notice what-so-ever. Failsafe Domed Industrial Warning Mats are deployed so that anyone entering that danger zone will be immediately alerted to the situation in three ways. 1. Visually, the Failsafe Domed Industrial Warning Mats are bright yellow and look vastly different than any typical flooring presenting a field of large half-round domes with tiny holes at various points. When walked upon, it feels like every thing is wrong; it is awkward and lumpy with with very good traction but totally uninviting. 2. Tactilely, the feel of the Failsafe Domed Industrial Warning Mats underfoot is so distinctive that anyone, even a rank amateur, would know instantaneously that something is amiss and that they are where they ought not to be. The message engineered into this special surface design is immediate and unmistakable, “Get the hell out’a here!” 3. Audibly, from the very first step on to any of its domed shaped surface structures the Failsafe Domed Industrial Warning Mats erupt into an annoying squeaking noise that does not stop until the user stops moving or vacates the area. According to Doris Kerns Goodwin, an expert on Lincoln and a consultant on that film, Lincoln’s voice was one that was very high pitched and almost annoying tone, where Douglas was said to have a fabulously deep and full “basso profundo” type of vocal quality and could boom it quite loud. But, the Douglas tones did not travel beyond the first few rows of listeners when the candidates were on the stump and his message was more missed than gotten. Lincoln’s squeaky squeals and higher pitched notes, according to Ms. Goodwin, tended to float over the heads of those in attendance so that all could hear them as if they were right up front). That is the nature of the sounds made by the Failsafe Domed Industrial Warning Mats. They are intended to be the safety warning of last resort; the warning that works when anything else might fail; ergo, failsafe. If someone were to say, “Well, I want a louder sound” we would say, “Fine, we can give you a louder sound.” Failsafe Domed Industrial Warning Mats can be augmented by other devices supplied by The Mat King to do just that. But, those devices will depend on electrical power to produce that louder warning. If, in the event of an electrical failure, the augmented sound is muted or even silenced as is so often seen in electrical blackouts, the Failsafe Domed Industrial Warning Mats would still be there and functional warning workers in all three ways: visually, tactilely and audibly. One more time with feeling: Thank you for your continued interest in Failsafe Domed Industrial Warning Mats. The Mat King has subtitled this product with the phrase: When You Hear this Mat, Get Out of There and Get Out-of There Fast! The object of this warning is strictly the person who is standing on it and is, therefore, in harm's immediate way. It is not intended to send out any kind of clarion call to the rest of his or her co-workers that he or she is in trouble. It is not there to shut down equipment. That is left to proximity switches and hidden eye curtains and the like. This is much simpler than any of those amazing and very important products. But, what the Failsafe Domed Industrial Warning Mats do makes this product very important; perhaps even more so than the other products mentioned. The Mat King calls it "failsafe" because even if there was an electrical failure, this product would still make its annoying high pitched warning sound. Its batteries can not wear down or go dead because it has no batteries. It depends on no outside support to perform its function save for the air in the room to transmit the sounds it generated when trod upon. Its color is yellow to serve as a visual warning that danger is here. Its texture and feeling under foot is peculiar to be immediately discernable as a place that is special even for one who is not aware of its singular purpose; i.e. to warn a person who is on it to evacuate the area immediately. And, its sound that is generated by the person who walks on it, is attention getting even if only to that one person. So, if a worker is wearing protective ear muffs that might muffle the sound of the Failsafe Domed Industrial Warning Mats, he or she will know from the message from his eyes and his feet that he or she had better Get Out of There and Get Out-of There Fast!
