Starburst High Visibility Reflective Glass Bead Tape - DOT tape - as the name suggests, uses microscopic glass beads to create its reflectivity. These beads are applied to the surface within honeycomb shaped grids which then bend the light sources that shine on it and reflects that light back towards those sources from where the light had come.

Sizes

Starburst High Visibility Reflective Glass Bead Tape - DOT tape - is available in standard rolls: 2 inch x 150 foot and 2 inch x 20 foot.

Custom sized rolls can be produced dependent on order quantity from 2/3's of an inch wide rolls up to to a maximum of 49 inch wide rolls.

The glass bead DOT tapes construction results in a reflection with a wider cone of light, limiting the distance of the retro-reflection values. However, while the wider cone of light isn’t as bright at long distances, it does reflect back at wider angles which is sometimes preferred at shorter distances.

Many see this as a more economical version, which is fair. But, it still meets FMVSS regulations, and its construction also makes it less expensive to manufacture than microprismatic DOT tape.

When maintained properly, glass bead DOT tape can have a retro-reflective performance of up to 7 years! This is not a guarantee, and as mentioned, will have this durability only with correct maintenance.

Starburst High Visibility Reflective Glass Bead Tape - DOT tape - has a self-adhesive base that adheres to any surface that is clean, dry and free from grease, simply remove the backing paper then apply firm pressure to stick in place. The use of a squeegee is recommended when applying DOT reflective tape. A squeegee helps to apply an even amount of pressure, which will ensure a clean application. The adhesive is permanent and works on steel, aluminum, fiberglass etc. Our product is durable and will provide years of use. Our tape also works well on truck tractors, vans, forklifts, trailers, agricultural equipment, buses, automobiles and the like.
