Stall Measurements:
1. Each stall is to be measured center post to center post.
2. When pads are made for tie stall barns, production will take into account extra width on the frame for triple bend legs and post frames. If there is a barn post, the comfort pad will be made wider on that side to compensate for any cutting that is needed.
3. Free Stall barns are to be measured from the center of each stall to the next stall's center. There are very few posts involved with a free stall barn. Pads are made to be brisket compatible.
4. Pads can be made to extend to the edge of the gutter, or to the edge of the grates in a flush system free stall barn or tie stall barn.
5. Best slant on concrete for self-cleaning is 2 to 3 inches from head to tail.
Installation:
1. Pads are slid into place. Only two anchors are required to hold each pad securely. Use a drill and a hammer jack to fasten the anchors into the concrete. Anchors are 3" long and made of stainless steel.
2. Circle blades can be used to cut holes for posts or for triple bend legs.
3. Pads should not be installed tightly against each other. A gap of one half inch should be left between mats to allow for the expansion of the mats during the summer.
4. If there is an open space between the stall pads, the farmer may wish to use strips of rubber mats or pieces of treated wood to fill in those spaces. It is recommend that such space be filled in to prevent cows from getting their hooves caught, which could result in a broken leg.
Bedding: A small amount of bedding is fine to use. Sand, however, result in an abrasive type of situation, which should be avoided.
Warranty:
1. Pads carry a 5 year warranty.
2. Mats installed by the end user and cut to where the interior foam becomes exposed voids the warantee on that particular mat.
