Tough
and Easy Installation Instructions |
-
Tough and Easy
Tiles must be site conditioned at room temperature for
48 hours prior to installation. During this period, room
temperature must be maintained at 70º F +/- 5º F (21º
C +/- 3º C).
-
Begin by calculating
the exact center of the room.
-
Start laying
tiles from the center of the floor towards the walls.
First lay the full tiles. Then proceed with the trimmed
tiles around the walls.
-
Tough and Easy
Tiles can be easily cut with a sharp utility knife, a
jigsaw or a circular saw.
-
A space of approximately
1/4" (6mm) should be left as an expansion gap around
the walls and any other obstacles, such as pillars.
-
Under normal
circumstances, the Tough and Easy Tiles do not require
adhesives. But, it is recommended that they be cemented
in place in the following situations:
a. If the floor
is exposed to high temperatures; i.e. in direct sunlight.
b. If the tiles
will have to resist extremely high dynamic pressure.
c. If the tiles
will be exposed to excessive liquids.
d. If tiles
are installed in cold temperature, i.e. under 70º F (21º
C).
-
In he even of
there being heavy machinery, the tiles should be laid
around the machines rather than under them and the expansion
gap should be included as per number 5 above.

Adhesives are not required for most
applications but are recommended when the floor will be subject
to heavy and continuous moisture levels or if it will be exposed
to direct sunlight. In such cases, when cementing in place is
recommended, the substrate must be smooth, dry and dust free.
Tough 'N' Easy Flooring has been extensively proven in
demanding operational conditions in laboratory controlled tests
covering chemical and electrical resistance, flammability, elasticity,
indentations, heat aging and sound insulation. |
Maintenance: Tough 'N' Easy
Flooring resist oil and chemical attack and are rot proof, however
it is wise to remove any spillage as soon as possible. General
maintenance such as sweeping, damp mopping, or the use of a
cylindrical scrubber combined vacuum machine for dry washing
are recommended. An emulsion dressing may be used.
Please note:
Single-sided or double-sided edging is available for interfacing
the material with surrounding flooring or to provide a beveled
and finished edge. |
